Job Description

About the Role:

We are looking for a proactive and systems-minded Production Planner to join our Supply Chain team in Brisbane. This is a "blank canvas" opportunity for a builder, someone who can manage day-to-day scheduling while actively helping us evolve our internal systems & processes.

Reporting to the Group Planning & Strategic Sourcing Manager, you will translate demand plans into executable production schedules for our high-volume, fresh-food environment. You will play a critical role in balancing service, cost, and operational efficiency, ensuring our plans are stable yet responsive to the fast-moving nature of our business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Scheduling & Execution: Develop detailed production schedules across multiple lines and shifts, ensuring they reflect realistic labour standards, line rates, and product complexity.
  • Finite Scheduling & Load Balancing: Apply finite scheduling principles to develop realistic, level‑loaded production plans that avoid excessive peaks and troughs, improve labour utilisation, and support consistent execution across the week.
  • S&OP & Capacity Planning: Contribute to the S&OP process, partnering with the Strategic Planner to maintain and update capacity models, assessing short and mediumterm constraints, and supporting scenario analysis to inform volume commitments and decisionmaking.
  • System Evolution: Operate effectively in an environment with limited system support by leveraging Excel-based models while identifying opportunities to improve and standardize our planning tools.
  • Problem Solving: Actively monitor plan adherence and lead "recovery options" when unplanned events like equipment downtime or ingredient shortages occur.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner closely with Production, Procurement, and Logistics to ensure ingredients are available and schedules align with dispatch windows.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify recurring causes of disruption and drive planning discipline to minimize unnecessary last-minute changes.

Skills & Experience

  • FMCG Background: Proven experience in production planning or scheduling within fresh food or high-volume manufacturing.
  • Technical Proficiency: Intermediate to advanced Excel skills are essential, as you will be managing complex data and self-developed tools.
  • Process Knowledge: A strong understanding of ERP/MRP logic and how planning decisions create "flow-on effects" across the end-to-end supply chain.
  • Resilience: The ability to stay calm and responsive in a fast-paced environment where managing allergens, shelf-life, and labour constraints is a daily reality.
  • Qualifications: APICS or CPIM certification is highly regarded.

Why Lite n’ Easy?

  • Influence: This is a "create your own role" environment where you will have a genuine say in how we do things.
  • Flexibility: We support work-life balance with flexible working hours and a hybrid arrangement, including one day per week working from home.
  • Impact: You’ll be a key interface in a business that prides itself on quality, health, and delivering fresh food to thousands of Australians.
